Underground Hydraulic Structures
Italo’s passion for the engineering design of underground hydraulic structures has moved him to share his experiences in this field with the world throughout this technical blog.
Italo’s knowledge on the field of underground structures started back in the year 1995 when he worked as a researcher in the PRECUPA Project, as an intern, studying landslide phenomena in the area of Cuenca, Ecuador. Once graduating in 1997 as a civil engineer, he worked on the design of bridge, sewer and building structures in the provinces of Azuay and Morona Santiago in Ecuador. Thereafter, his determination to deepen his knowledge in the, hydraulic, geotechnical and structural engineering brought him to the USA in the year 1999. Here, Italo completed his master’s in structural engineering in year 2003 and also became a licensed professional engineer for the State of Ohio. At the moment, Italo is a doctoral candidate in field of geo-structural engineering.
Italo worked on the water resources and geotechnical engineering for URS for 5 years; thereafter he moved to work for WadeTrim. Italo has been working for WadeTrim in Cleveland, Ohio since year 2006, where he specializes on the design of deep underground hydraulic structures.
